Theme: ‘New Times. New Approaches to Higher Education’

Higher education institutions globally are being challenged on several fronts – sustainable financing, an increasingly borderless world underpinned by rapid changes in information and communication technologies, increased competition as programmes and people traverse that borderless world in search of better opportunities; the changing expectations of students, staff and other stakeholders.
These are just the tip of the iceberg. Staying relevant to the communities we serve through teaching and research and other services has always been on the agenda but there is now an urgency that permeates the hallowed halls of our institutions to ensure that we function effectively as an integrated higher education system with differentiated institutions serving the many needs of our stakeholders.

July 12th – 14th, 2018 – at the Hyatt Regency, Port of Spain, Trinidad

Join us at the 2018 Association of Caribbean Higher Education Administrators (ACHEA) Conference.

Theme: ‘Embracing The Future: Creative Approaches To Higher Education’

Caribbean communities are facing challenging and uncertain socio-economic and political times and a future that will continue to evolve significantly within the next decade. Competition, rising tuition costs, diversity in student populations, workforce readiness, and government funding, are some of the issues confronting Higher Education. Organizational infrastructures and cultures that now exist for delivering higher education must therefore adapt to meet new realities.  Now is the time to think outside the box, to be creative and resourceful as Higher Education Institutions embrace opportunities, while simultaneously making relevant adjustments to internal and external operations. At ACHEA 2018 new models, trends, and innovative strategies will be explored in response to the socio-economic and political challenges that lay ahead.

Challenges are universal, but responses need to be local.”

Joseph Zolner, Senior Director of the

Harvard Institutes for Higher Education
