As such, the conference deliberations\/discussions will center around the identification and development of appropriate mitigation strategies geared towards re-positioning HEIs to achieve greater levels of organizational efficiency, effectiveness and success through innovation, leadership and social partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>The three-day conference will provide an opportunity for multi-disciplinary exchanges and a platform for the presentation and sharing of cross-sectional perspectives from professionals, academics, and administrators in the field of Higher Education.<\/p>\n<p><b>Sub-themes<\/b><\/p>\n<p>ACHEA invites papers which take into consideration the conference theme and address the following sub-themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Higher Education and the Development of Small Economies<\/li>\n<li>Internationalization and Commercialization of Higher Education (HE)<\/li>\n<li>Governance, Finance and Structural Adjustment Policy Implications<\/li>\n<li>Strategic Public Private Partnerships in HE Institutions<\/li>\n<li>E-Commerce and associated Risks in HE Institutions<\/li>\n<li>Climate Change and Environmental Threats<\/li>\n<li>Globalization, Gender, and Multicultural Diversity<\/li>\n<li>Facilities, Security and Enterprise Risk Management<\/li>\n<li>Emerging Technologies and Innovations in HE<\/li>\n<li>Health, Wellness and associated Risks in HE Institutions<\/li>\n<li>Quality Assurance<\/li>\n<li>Work-Integrated Education for the 21st century workforce<\/li>\n<li>Student Services and Support<\/li>\n<li>Leadership Development and HR Practices<\/li>\n<li>Engaging Higher Education in Social Change<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Selection Process<br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Submissions will be reviewed by a panel consisting of higher education professionals and members of the ACHEA Executive.<\/p>\n<p><b>Submission Details<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Proposals for papers should include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Presentation Title<\/li>\n<li>Presenter\u2019s Name(s) and Affiliation<\/li>\n<li>Sub-theme<\/li>\n<li>Abstracts must provide as much information as possible in these areas.<\/li>\n<li>Key issues to be addressed:\n<ul>\n<li>Objective and scope of the presentation<\/li>\n<li>Relevance of the presentation to the conference theme<\/li>\n<li>Impact of the work and in particular, how can Caribbean HEIs gain from the research\/presentation<\/li>\n<li>Indicate type of research: survey, case study, historical analysis, theoretical exposition, exploratory paper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Language: English<\/p>\n<p>Paper Length: At least 5 pages (excluding works cited\/bibliography)<\/p>\n<p>Spacing: 1.5 lines<\/p>\n<p>Font: Times New Roman, 12 point<\/p>\n<p>Margins: 2.5<\/p>\n<p>Word Citation style: APA<\/p>\n<p><b>Proposals for Lightning Talks<\/b><\/p>\n<p>There are slots for eight-10 minutes presentations. These brief sessions expose attendees to new ideas, discoveries, challenges and solutions in higher education.
